About FixingMusic

I’m not here to play insider. I’m not chasing press passes or rubbing shoulders with label execs. I’ve been out of the industry for over 15 years. In that time, the business has changed beyond recognition. Streaming rules, algorithms decide, and most artists are left scraping for pennies.

But one thing hasn’t changed: the fight for musicians to earn the recognition and revenues their work deserves. That struggle is centuries old.

Fixing Music is my way of rejoining the conversation. Not as an authority with all the answers, but as a writer with questions, convictions and a stubborn belief that independence is more possible now than ever. I’m here to shine a light on the ways artists can keep control of their music, their audiences, and their futures.

I’ve built businesses. I’ve seen how systems extract more than they give back. And I’ve loved music my whole life. Those three threads are what I bring here.

This project isn’t about chasing clicks or selling ads. It’s about documenting the old battles and the new opportunities, and maybe, just maybe, helping one more band find a way to make music a living, not just a hobby.

If that resonates with you, welcome. You’re in the right place.
